NGP - Official name leaked?

Searching the internet last night I came across a few articles regarding Sony's latest handheld console, the NGP. The information claims that the NGP, or Next Generation Handheld will officially be named the PlayStation Vita.

The articles all contain roughly the same information. The first piece of information is that the web addresses PlayStationVita.com and PSVita.com where created on April 20th using NetNames, a major web dormain registration service. This aspect of the rumour though does appear to be true, at least to some degree at both sites currently cannot be accessed and instead display a page relating to NetNames.

Along with this two pictures have also surfaced. Both are said to be from a marketing brochure for the new handheld and both images not being particularlly high in quality. Here are links to both images:

All of the articles I have read regarding this say that the source of this information is in fact other Blogspot site, Mega Rock Blog. Since the information was put out the blog's viewing permissions have been changed so only those permittted by the authour can view it, although a page from the site's cache can be viewed here.

I personally am unsure as to why the information has come out now, but at the same time, I don't honestly care as it is not even a week until E3 now, so it would seem that any false information will be proven wrong or correct information backed up at E3, so either way we will most likely recieve more information. As for the name itself, I am unsure as to what to think of it. There are many of the consoles features that are yet to be shown, so I am not sure as to if that name reflects the product. Having said that though, 'vita' is Latin for life, and as many gaming sites are saying, this could be Sony attempt to breathe life back into their systems, but I will not comment on that here...

Anyway, that has been the latest news for the new NGP information. I hope to have more news soon. I have been randomthings and thank you very much for reading.
